This intense thriller was filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The story is about a police officer and an assassin as they race against time.

Deadly Impact follows an Albuquerque police officer who has made it his job to locate a serial assassin (Joe Pantoliano). Tom Armstrong (Sean Patrick Flanery) is a tough cop. He has studied this assassin and knows him better than anyone else in law enforcement. When the police get a break one night as to his whereabouts, they enter a house only to be met by an awful scene. Tom’s wife is tied up with explosives all around. Tom gets a call from the assassin with instructions.

Tom gets a choice. He can shoot his wife in the chest to deactivate the bombs, or he can simply refuse, in which case everyone with him, including his wife, will be killed. There is no way out of the house. It is either his wife’s life or the lives of ten people who have families of their own.

Tracking Down the Assassin

That’s how tense this film starts out. From there it is a cat and mouse game as years later Tom returns to Albuquerque to assist the FBI when the assassin is once again traced to the city.

This is no ordinary assassin. He is intelligent and has the ability to transform his appearance into many different people. His disguises allow him access to buildings which serve his purpose. And this time he is targeting the FBI and once again, Tom Flanery.

Tom is back at work with two things on his mind. First, he wants to catch this man for the safety of the people of Albuquerque, and second he wants revenge. Terror erupts in the city as people are taken hostage and bombs explode.

The FBI and several other law enforcement agencies are gathering to get this man once and for all. They have him in the city and they don’t intend on letting him get away. But he always manages to stay one step ahead of them. How does he do it?

Deadly Impact

While the story is a bit weak, after all, this mastermind manages to do some extraordinary things, the action is tense and suspenseful. A lot of people die in this film. So many die that viewers will lose count of the dead bodies. But even so, there is something interesting about how the two enemies act and react. Even though it is not an award-winning film, and even though some of the things are over-the-top, this is still an entertaining high octane film.

Yes, it is a bit over-the-top, but it is entertaining and filled with plenty of action and suspense.
