The whole dino gang is headed to the big city for a dinosaur convention.

Dinosaur Big City is a new hour-long movie special on PBS Kids featuring all the gang from the hit series Dinosaur Train. Buddy, a T-Rex, is being raised by a family of Pteranodons and is curious what his life will be like when he grows up and grows too big for their nest. He knows another T-Rex family and from them he’s learned that they migrate to locate their food. He also knows that he will be outgrowing the Pteranodon nest and have to leave his family one day.

Theropod Convention

The Pteranodon family learns about a Theropod convention being held in the big city and decide to go so that little Buddy can learn about what his life has in store for him. The Pteranodon family boards the Dinosaur Train and head on out to take part in the Theropod convention in Laramidia, the Dinosaur Big City. It’s an exciting adventure. The train travels through Time Tunnels as they chug along on their way to Laramidia.

Along the way the train picks up several other dinosaurs who are also heading to the convention. Among them is King Cryolophosaurus – a dinosaur who bears an uncanny resemblance in appearance and sound to Elvis Presley. King is hiding his fear of crowds and performing in public. He comes off as a self-assured guy, but down deep he harbors many fears.

At the convention Buddy sees a variety of Theropods and when he reunites with his friend Annie Tyrannosaurus and her parents Delores and Boris, he gets the chance to ask all his questions about what his life will be like when he grows up and leaves the Pteranodon nest.

The convention is fun for all of the dinosaurs, and in the end King overcomes his fears.
