In Plain Sigh stars Mary McCormack as Mary Shannon, a U.S. Marshall working in New Mexico for the Federal Witness Protection Program. Some of the people she relocates and looks after are criminals who have testified against others. Some of the people are witnesses. But all of those in the program are in danger. Someone wants them dead. It is the job of WITSEC to keep them anonymous and safe.
In the season two cliffhanger, Mary was shot. As the season opens Mary starts her search, along with her partner Marshall Mann (Frederick Weller), for the gang member who shot her.
Season Three Premier Episode
The opening episode weaves together three stories: Mary’s return to her life after being shot, the hunt for her shooter, and a complicated storyline about one of the families she is protecting. This storyline is complicated because a new crime has been committed with the same MO as those committed years ago by the relocated father of the family. The evidence points to him, but he insists he has not committed the crime. He is now remarried and working hard to make an honest living for his family. So where did the criminals who committed this crime learn how to do what they did? All roads lead back to this family. Mary has to figure out who committed the crime and also keep the anonymity of the family.
This is the third season of In Plain Sight, a popular series on the USA Network. Among the actors guest-starring this season are Allison Janney, Steven Weber, Tess Harper, Josh Cooke, and Donnie Wahlberg.
Leslie Ann Warren has a recurring role as Mary’s mother. Nicole Hiltz plays Mary’s sister, Cristian de la Fuente plays Mary’s boyfriend, and Paul Ben-Victor plays her boss. Mary’s family is a quintessential dysfunctional family. She pours all her time and energy into her work, which she explains to her mother in the season opener, is important and saves many lives.

In Plain Sight has been nominated for a NAMIC Vision Award. An episode was nominated for a Prism Award, and McCormack was nominated for a Prism Award.
The third season of In Plain Sight premiers Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 10 PM ET. This is a new night for the series.
