You might have seen Chaz Dean on infomercials or QVC. He is a renowned hair stylist in Southern California and created a line of hair care products called WEN. The foundation of the line is the Cleansing Conditioner. What Dean has done is to create a shampoo and conditioner in one. And these cleansing conditioners are unlike any other hair cleansers because they don’t lather.
Dean maintains that lathering strips the hair of its nutrients. That is why he created his own line of products. Besides the cleansing conditioners there are other products as well.
New Scents
One of the newest scents is the Pomegranate. I have used WEN for years and have been used to the Fig and the Sweet Almont Mint scents. My hair, being thick and wavy, has been tamed quite a bit by these products, but I will admit that I haven’t been overjoyed with the scents. However, because the product works I have learned to live with them.
When I tried the new Pomegranate cleansing conditioner the fruity/flowery scent was a welcome change to my hair care. While still delivering the same benefits of the other cleansing conditioners, I immediately enjoyed the new scent. And, a bonus to me, the scent lasted throughout the day.
Chaz Dean has also introduced limited seasonal scents. Currently (from September 2011 to November 2011) consumers can purchase the Fall Ginger Pumpkin cleansing conditioner. Yes, it still has the great benefits of all the WEN products, leaving hair healthy and conditioned, but the scent is intoxicating. If this doesn’t put you in the mood for fall, nothing will. It’s very spicy, much like a ginger candle. And, as with the Pomegranate, the scent lasts through the day.
Unfortunately, if you fall in love with this particular scent, you must purchase your items before the end of November as that is how long they will remain in inventory. After that, WEN will have another seasonal scent for the winter months.
The three-month seasonal scents are great. You can change your hair cleansing regimen without actually changing the product. All that changes is the scent. And all the new products are created with the newest formula that is hydrating and restorative. And, as mentioned above, the scents last through the day.
Using WEN Cleansing Conditioners
As with all the Cleansing Conditioners, the product is applied at the beginning of your shower then rinsed off before you exit the shower. While you are soaping up your body, your hair is getting a treatment that not only cleanses it, but also conditions, hydrates and restores it.
The new scents should be a welcome addition to all WEN users. When decorating your home for the season, you can also add a touch of the season to your hair.
The only downside (beside the fact that the Fall Ginger Pumpkin is only available for three months) is that when you shampoo you don’t lather your hair. Although I am used to this, I still miss the fact that my hair does not get sudsy. But that’s a small price to pay for healthy hair.
